Our retreat venue in Sri Lanka is a place that you would happily come to just be in the moment, listening to the sounds of nature, admiring the colours of the lush vegetation and sip tea without being disturbed. However, this fantastic location is not just another jungle paradise in the centre of Sri Lanka as it offers a plethora of experiences for those that have itchy feet and love exploring the world.
This fantastic Sri Lankan retreat venue sits wonderfully close to unknown temples to the wider world, traditional lush green tea estates, The Knuckles mountain range and special little villages dotting the shores of the Victoria Lake. WATER SPORTS IN VICTORIA LAKE
During your retreat experience in Sri Lanka you will be able to offer your guests endless activities to enhance your Yoga retreat. Being in or on the water here is a great invigorating and energising experience. Your guests will be able to go off Kayaking or SUP in the Lake with fellow participants, go for picnics on nearby islands or even go on fishing trips with local fishermen who'll have you on-board to catch Lake Fish or fresh-water Crayfish.
IN-HOUSE SPA TREATMENTS
Within our Yoga retreat center in central Sri Lanka we can offer your guests different Spa treatments that will complement your Retreat experience. Unwind with the help of local therapists and with a gorgeous view that will keep you connected to the lush and unspoilt nature around our beautiful retreat venue in the jungle.
TEA PICKING AND WATERFALLS
Up the hill from our Yoga retreat venue in Sri Lanka, you can visit the Ashburnham Estate tea farm where you can experience tea leaf picking and have a guided tour of the fields by the estate’s manager, to see and understand the process of planting and picking. Beyond its tea fields, the Estate boasts a number of lovely waterfalls, all of which offer an ideal means of cooling off after a morning in the fields.
KNUCKLES MOUNTAINS TREKKING
One of the experiences when hosting a retreat in our Sri Lanka retreat venue is getting out to the Knuckles mountains range. A National Park very well protected against development or misuse which can offer brilliant hikes, and provide a great way of connecting with nature and the surroundings of our venue in central Sri Lanka. You can experience the beauty of these mountains from many of the rooms, chill out spaces and the spa.
KANDY, THE CULTURAL HEART OF SRI LANKA
Take a trip to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s UNESCO heritage city and experience it in style on a Tuk-Tuk that will take you around some of its highlights. Experience the quiet heaven of Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, visit the Temple of the tooth where buddha’s relic tooth is housed and catch one of the ceremonies which happen three times daily. Lastly, visit some of Kandy’s cafes and vegetarian restaurants which will be a real treat to your taste spuds.
BAMBARAGALA BUDDHIST TEMPLE
Bambaragala is one of the few temples in Sri Lanka that boasts real historical significance. The temple, which is part of a Monastery complex, sits a little way up a great rock formation and it can be seen when taking a swim in Victoria lake. You can walk to it from our Sri Lanka Retreat center within an hour or so, climbing steps for the last part as you head up to really beautiful, small meditation caves, intricately painted several hundred years ago.
